Functional Safety Managers under the regime of ISO 26262 are exposed to legal liabilities. The term „independence“ of functional safety managers should be deleted in the next revision of the norm to avoid legal implications in a technical norm. The following article is the translation of a contribution to the new publication INTER of March 2013.
